Hotel occupancy rates climb from a year ago

Local hotel occupancy rates rose for the fourth straight month in June, moving up 4.3 percentage points from June 2009 to 77.7 percent, according to the Rocky Mountain Lodging Report. Average room rates also rose, climbing $1.50 to $89.70.
Statewide, occupancy rates were also up, rising 5.4 percentage points to 69.2 percent, while the average room rate rose $2.80 to $115.06.
