Download information on school board candidates

Dozens of people from the Pikes Peak region are running for school board seats this year, and The Gazette is profiling them.

The main purpose of this guide is to introduce voters to the candidates in the 10 districts with contested races, but we’ll also note those who are running unopposed.

All the candidates were sent a questionnaire seeking biographical information and a statement on their priorities. If they didn’t return their questionnaires by our deadline, we called to ask whether they received one and offered to resend it. With the candidates’ permission, we verified their educational and military information, and also checked the Colorado Courts database for infractions that would merit further investigation (little turned up, other than traffic violations and debts). We’ve noted which candidates did not acknowledge questionnaires or give permission to verify their claims.
