Tree recycling ends soon at most sites
Comments 0 | Recommend 0This is the last weekend for area residents to drop off their Christmas trees at six convenient recycling locations — for the miserly sum of $5.
Young volunteers with the annual Tree Recycle program will help residents unload trees at the drop-off sites. The trees are mulched, and residents can load their vehicles with some good garden cover.
The $5 fee benefits youth sports programs.
The trees can be dropped off Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
- Baptist Road Trailhead, Baptist Road and Old Denver Road.
- Cottonwood Creek Park, Dublin Boulevard and Montarbor Drive.
- Verizon Complex, 30th Street and Garden of the Gods Road.
- Memorial Park, Union Boulevard and Pikes Peak Avenue.
- Sky Sox Stadium, Barnes Road and Charlotte Parkway.
- Falcon Trailhead, southwest of Woodmen Road and McLaughlin Road.
Procrastinators can also haul their trees to Rocky Top Resources, 1755 E. Las Vegas St., which will accept them until Jan. 31. Rocky Top is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
