    THE GAZETTE

Colorado Springs Police charged a 14-year-old female student at Jenkins Middle School with false reporting of explosives, a felony, and interference with staff, faculty or students at an educational institution, a misdemeanor, in connection with a bomb scare this morning at the school, near Austin Bluffs and Dublin.

The students and staff of Jenkins were evacuated to a nearby elementary school for several hours. Police had a canine unit on scene and determined that the building was clear.

Officers traced a threatening phone call this morning to a pharmacy at the Albertson's at 7055 Austin Bluffs.

The students were let back into school just after 10:30 a.m.
