Police say man sexually assaulted girl, 17

A 52-year-old Colorado Springs man will make his first appearance in court today after being arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

Timothy Kiner was taken into custody in connection with the incident, which police allege happened about 1 a.m. Monday at his home in the Canterbury Mobile Home Park, south of Powers and Astrozon boulevards.

The assault allegedly happened when the two returned to his house after drinking beer at a bar, according to Colorado Springs police Sgt. Mike Roy. The girl, who also lives in the mobile home park, was found at a nearby residence.

Kiner was booked into the El Paso County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both felonies.
