The Gazette

Douglas County sheriff's detectives on Tuesday arrested two men suspected in a June 28 burglary and auto theft in Castle Rock in which a sheriff's deputy was wounded in the arm, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

The men - both 19 - were identified as Brandon Kreuzer of Sedalia and Taylor Moudy of Castle Rock. The deputy was treated and returned to duty shortly after the shooting.

Kreuzer and Moudy are also suspects in a string of burglaries and auto thefts beginning in May, including an armed robbery June 11 at Circle K convenience store in Castle Rock.

They were booked into the Douglas County jail. Authorities did not disclose what charges they will pursue, and Deputy Cocha Heyden, a sheriff's spokeswoman, was not immediately available for further details.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
