WORKSHOPS

"Publishing Your Own Book" workshop - By Kenneth Guentert of The Publishing Pro, 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Black Cat Books, 720 Manitou Ave., Manitou Springs. Cost is $25 and includes a copy of "From Pen to Print: A Guide and Workbook for the Self-Publisher." Registration, 685-1861, ext. 45.

Children's Literacy Center Tutoring Training - The center needs volunteers, high school age and older, to provide one-on-one tutoring in reading for first- through fifth-graders.

Orientation and training sessions will be held 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - you are required to attend only one session - at the Children's Literacy Center, 2928 Straus Lane, Suite 100. Volunteers will tutor one child, two hours a week for 12 weeks in the fall. Several sites and times are available. Information and registration, peakreader.org, 471-8672.
