Security man robbed after inviting chat room friend to home

Colorado Springs police searched a home near Memorial Park on Monday, but did not find a robbery suspect believed to have barricaded himself inside.

The SWAT team entered the house at 1547  E. Fountain St. about 4:30 a.m., eight hours after the standoff began Sunday at 8:08 p.m.

Officers went to the home after arresting Leann Arroyo, 30, on suspicion of taking part in a robbery earlier Sunday at a home on Watson Boulevard in Security.

The victim told El Paso County sheriff’s deputies that he had corresponded with a woman through an online chat site and invited her to his home. When she arrived, she was accompanied by two men, one of whom pulled a gun and demanded money.

The resident gave them $20, then ran into a bedroom and the three robbers left.

Arroyo was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery in the 1500 block of Fountain Street. She is being held in the El Paso County jail on $25,000 bond.
