Southwest Springs Target store robbed

A Target store in southwest Colorado Springs was robbed at gunpoint Friday evening.

According to the Colorado Springs police, a man in his early-20s entered the store in the 1600 block of Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard just after 6 p.m. carrying a handgun. He approached a checkout register, showed the gun and demanded cash.

After the man left the store with an undetermined amount of money, police closed off the immediate area and brought in a K-9 unit to track the robber. At 10 p.m., the thief was still on the loose.
