Register for Educating Children of Color summit
The deadline is fast approaching to register for the Educating Children of Color summit, which takes place 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Colorado College. The event brings together organizations, professionals and community members to discuss minority student achievement. The cost is $25 for professionals by the Dec. 4 early registration deadline, and $40 after. It’s free to students and parents who attend with their child. The event is sponsored by the Minority Overrepresentation committee of the 4th Judicial District and other community organizations. Catch a musical
Two high school musicals will be performed this weekend in Colorado Springs School District 11. “Willy Wonka the Musical” will be on stage at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at Coronado High School, 1590 West Fillmore. There also is a 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be performed at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at Wasson High School, 2115 Afton Way.  Tickets are $5 for students and $6 for adults.
