Speed, alcohol may have contributed to Sunday evening crash

THE GAZETTE

A man who police say may have been driving drunk Sunday night wasn’t seriously hurt even after his vehicle hit a median, went into the air, slid and rolled several times in north Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs police say Corban Wyrick was driving fast south on North Union Boulevard about 8:20 p.m. when his 2007 Toyota hit a median at Del Paz Drive. After the crash, he was trapped inside the Toyota and had to be rescued by firefighters. He was taken to the hospital and treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police say that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
