Man arrested after crashing stolen SUV into house
Police arrested a man who allegedly ran into a house while driving a stolen SUV just after 5 a.m. today.
The residents at 3015 E. Pikes Peak Ave. got a rude awakening as the vehicle jumped the curb in front of the home, hurled through the front yard, clipped the house and came to rest in the back yard.
The driver, Howard Abram, left the area and was later picked up by Colorado Springs police at a convenience store.
The suspect was charged with hit and run, theft by receiving for possessing the stolen vehicle and several other traffic charges, according to CSPD spokeswoman Sgt. Mary Walsh. The man had multiple outstanding warrants at the time of the arrest.
Nobody was hurt in the home, Walsh said. The suspect, however, was reported to have minor injuries.
