The funeral for an Air Force Academy professor killed in Afghanistan is set for Thursday, the academy announced Tuesday.

The service for Maj. Philip Ambard will begin at 12:30 p.m. inside the cadet chapel.

Ambard died last week in a mass shooting at an airport in Kabul that left eight other Americans dead.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project: www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
