Forecasters take second look at their predictions
On Wednesday, we asked local TV weather forecasters for their snowfall predictions for Thursday's snowstorm. Amid the blowing snow Thursday afternoon, we asked them if things were turning out the way they expected.
Matt Meister, KRDO/Channel 13
Wednesday's prediction: Two to 4 inches
Thursday's thought: "At 10 o'clock, I had upped my numbers. It'll be interesting to see if the numbers I gave you yesterday turn out to be closer to reality.
"It's working out (as predicted) in terms of timing and intensity. The southeast plains are getting the worst of everything."
Brian Bledsoe, KKTV/Channel 11
Wednesday's prediction: Three to 8 inches
Thursday's thought: "We're still sticking with 3 to 8 right now. The east side of the county and the areas that are a little further away could see more.
"We're still staying the course with the forecast - most of the area is going to see some pretty awful weather."
Mike Daniels, KOAA/Channels 5 & 30
Wednesday's prediction: Three to 8 inches
Thursday's thought: "It came in exactly how we were forecasting it last night, hitting northern El Paso County late in the morning and then moving south. We've got some serious wind out of the north. It's not done, by any means."
Terry Gerbstadt, KXRM/Channel 21
Wednesday's prediction: Four to 10 inches
Thursday's thought: "I'm kind of looking 5 to 10 right now, not that that's a big change.
"Overnight, we're going to see near-blizzard conditions, just like we were talking about. It's going to be a nasty night. You don't want to be outside."
