A man was taken to a hospital today after a collision that left a car pinned under a semi truck on Interstate 25 at Garden of the Gods Road, police said.

At about 2:30 p.m., a man in a two-door Saturn crashed into the semi, said Colorado Springs Police Sgt. Michael Spitzmiller. The car was wedged underneath the semi in the left lane.

Emergency crews pulled out the trapped driver after extinguishing a minor fire. He was taken to Penrose hospital in an unknown condition.

Traffic is crawling in both directions on I-25. One lane is closed on southbound I-25 between Garden of the Gods Road and Fillmore Street.
