Tulsa police have arrested a man wanted for more than 20 years in Colorado Springs after disappearing when he was convicted of felony theft.

Tulsa police say 66-year-old Clifford Stewart was arrested Thursday at a Tulsa apartment complex where Colorado authorities had received a tipped he was living.

Richard Stark, a criminal investigator with the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office, described Stewart as the Springs-area's "No. 3 most wanted" fugitive because of how long he'd been on the run. Stark told Tulsa police that Stewart disappeared in 1985 after being convicted of stealing $1.9 million dollars and ordered to pay restitution. Details of the crime were not immediately available.

Stewart is now in custody in Tulsa pending extradition.
