Going to be out of town and want to temporarily stop your subscription? The Gazette offers two easy options to put your subscription on temporary hold: Either \our automated phone system at 1-866-632-NEWS (6397), or our secure online system. (Site opens in a new window. Please have your account number handy for authentication purposes.)

You will have the option of receiving your missed papers when you return, adding the missed days to the end of your subscription, or donating them to the Newspaper in Education program, which provides papers at no charge to area schools for use in the classroom. For more about the NIE program, click here.

Please note that in cases where a restart date is not provided, subscriptions automatically are converted over to online-only subscriptions 90 days after the original stop date.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
