SUNRISE: Cold front might mean a white Christmas

Expect cooler weather and a chance of snow today – a trend that will continue through the week. The National Weather Service predicts a high of 42 degrees today and a 10 percent chance of snow. On Wednesday, temperatures should dip into the 20s and stay there through Christmas.

With a cold weather and snow predicted through the week, there’s a good chance it will be a white Christmas this year.

 

HELICOPTER CEREMONY

The Colorado Springs Police Department is ending its helicopter unit and holding a ceremony today to celebrate the work that it has done. The ceremony is at 1:30 p.m. today at the unit’s hangar at 950 Aviation Way.

To help with the city’s budget constraints, the helicopters will be sold. The officers and sergeant who were part of the unit will be reassigned.
