A woman stabbed a woman Tuesday night who went to her Cimarron Hills home to sell magazines but may have been trying to steal from the house, officials said.

About 8:20 p.m., two women went to the home on Petersburg Court, west of Peterson Road and Constitution Avenue, and got into an altercation with the homeowner, said Lt. Lari Sevene, El Paso County Sheriff’s spokeswoman. The homeowner pulled a knife and stabbed one of the women, cutting herself in the process, officials said.

The stabbed woman and her companion left the house, getting away in a green minivan driven by a man, Sevene said. Colorado Springs Police caught up with the van, took the male driver and the uninjured woman into custody and the injured woman to the hospital, Sevene said. Sevene did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries but did not believe them to be life-threatening.

The homeowner was also transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
