Colorado Springs police identified a woman whose body was found early Monday in her home near The Citadel mall as 48-year-old Marie “Angie” Sandoval.

Police spokesman Lt. David Whitlock said Tuesday an autopsy has been completed, but no other information about the death was released.

In his statement, Whitlock said the cause of death has not been "finalized." Whitlock said Monday the death was being investigated as a suspicious death, but police have not said if it is the city's first homicide this year.

The body was discovered around 2 a.m. Monday in the home at 1002 Querida Drive by a family member who called police to report that Sandoval appeared to be dead. Two children were in the home when the body was discovered, but neither was harmed, Whitlock said.
