Workshop tackles parent concerns

An upcoming evening workshop will address a whole slew of the concerns that parents have about their children these days.
The Parent Enrichment Workshop,sponsored by Cheyenne District 12 counselors and PTO, is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4 from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High, 1200 W. Cheyenne Rd.
The public is invited to the free event, including those who live outside the district. Certificates for continuing education will be available.
Among the topics to be discussed by counselors and other professionals are: college, drug trends in Colorado Springs, ENVISION math, parenting strategies, high risk behavior prevention, relational aggression, social and emotional development in children, stress management, ADD, substance abuse prevention in teens.
There will be child care for those from kindergarten though 6th grade.
