SET's Joseph named "Business Leader of the Year"

Zelna Joseph, president and CEO of SET Family Medical Clinics, was named the Accolades Business Leader of the Year on Tuesday by the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

Joseph has led SET for five years as the nonprofit group’s budget has expanded from $500,000 to $2 million and its hours have been expanded from three nights a week to five days a week.
SET, which marks its 20th anniversary Oct. 23, now provides 9,000 clinic visits a year and operates programs for families, seniors, the homeless and ex-offenders.

Joseph said she was shocked and didn’t have a speech ready when she received the honor at Tuesday’s luncheon.

“For the Women’s Chamber of Commerce to acknowledge the work that’s being done in the area of the safety net, providing health care for the uninsured and the people that need it the most, was amazing,” she said.
