THE GAZETTE

The woman found dead in her freezer on Saturday has been identified as 60-year-old Maria Young.

The El Paso County Coroner's office determined Young's cause of death was positional asphyxiation, and the manner of death was accidental.

Young was found by a friend Saturday morning.

"The investigation revealed that Ms. Young apparently fell into an open chest freezer and was unable to free herself," Colorado Springs Police said in a news release.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
