 KEY ISSUES

1. What should state lawmakers be doing to strengthen Colorado's economy?

Our economic priority should be to create the best environment possible for both small and large business - established businesses and entrepreneurs. Limiting the burden of taxation and regulation, as well as providing reasonable incentives to businesses to locate in Colorado are important elements for strengthening our economy.

2. What should the state Legislature do about illegal immigration, or has it taken all necessary steps?

A great deal still needs to be done. We can start by passing legislation to deny bail to illegal immigrants who commit serious crimes and repeat DUI. We also should require proof of citizenship for voter registration. And, we can prohibit the establishment of sanctuary cities in our state.

3. What role should the state government play in the advancement of renewable energy?

Our state should encourage the development of all our energy resources through a favorable environment for investment and entrepreneurship. However, the state should not be involved in picking winners and losers in the renewable energy field. Those choices must be made by the free market to ensure rational, cost-effective decisions.
