KEY ISSUES

1. What should state lawmakers be doing to strengthen Colorado's economy?

The exact opposite of what is happening now - stop unconstitutional taxing of citizens for projects they did not vote for, stop putting a stranglehold on business through extra fees and regulations, stop the overgrowth of unions in our state, create a secure rainy day fund for lean economic times.

2. What should the state Legislature do about illegal immigration, or has it taken all necessary steps?

There is much more to do in this area, I passed a tough crime bill in 2007 to help law enforcement deal with illegal alien crime - but our state government is not doing enough oversight on the laws we already passed. It is a leadership issue.

3. What role should the state government play in the advancement of renewable energy?

Government should be an independent leader in this area - motivating and incentivizing energy development, not putting a tax burden on one industry to subsidize another. We need both drilling and new energy resource development in a comprehensive state and regional plan.

Ted Haggard is starting new church at his Colorado Springs home.
What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
Haggard should stay out of the ministry. He has too much baggage to lead a church.
I don't care what Haggard does, and I'm sick of hearing about him in the news.
Haggard and anyone crazy enough to attend his church deserve each other.
Haggard has a lot to offer as a pastor. Let's give him a chance.
