KIMBERLY CALDWELL AT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN STATE GAMES
“American Idol” contestant Kimberly Caldwell will perform at the opening ceremony of the Rocky Mountain State Games. Acrodunk, the acrobatic, slam-dunk performance team who starred on the TV show “America’s Got Talent” will also perform, along with the parade of athletes, videos and the Official Torch Ceremony, 7 p.m. today, World Arena, 3185 Venetucci Blvd., $5-$7; worldarena.com, ticketswest.com or 576-2626.

A NEW BRAIN FOR ARNIE
A New Brain for Arnie plays a little acid jazz, jam band, funk. And it’s all improvised on the spot. The band’s chock-full of seasoned musicians, including Kim Stone, Michael Reese, Wayne Hammerstadt and others, 8 p.m. today, Stargazers Theatre and Event Center, 10 S. PIKES PEAK ROCKS 2010
Hikers and musicians will trek up Pikes Peak in a benefit for global cancer care. It starts at dawn with acoustic music by local musicians, then a second set of music at 12,000 feet with John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light. At the top, Chris Carrabba, lead singer of Dashboard Confessional, will perform at about 1 p.m. Saturday, Pikes Peak; 1-303-818-2170 or lovehopestrength.org.

BLAME SALLY
Blame Sally is a San Francisco-based band with good credentials. They’re an all-female, folk/rock band who have shared the bill with Joan Baez, 7 p.m. Saturday, Stargazers Theatre and Event Center, 10 S. Parkside Drive, $20-$40; 476-2200 or stargazerstheatre.com.

ROAD TOUR
Whole Foods Market will be hopping on Saturday with local farmers and vendors, national blues band Big Bill Morganfield, a local chefs’ competition, activities for kids and more, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Whole Foods Market, 7635 N.
