BOOKS
A huge number of books have been published on Columbine and other school shootings in the past decade. One of the latest shatters some of the enduring myths about school shooters, including the one that most are loners and were bullied. Author Peter Langman, a child psychologist and director of KidsPeace, a nonprofit dedicated to meeting the needs of adolescents in crisis, used public reports, diaries and other data to delve into the minds of 10 rampage shooters. "Why Kids Kill: Inside the Minds of School Shooters" was published this year.
