Local man streaming live tonight with military on his mind

A local man is hosting an Internet talk radio show tonight focusing on military contributions in Colorado Springs and overseas.

Bob Calvert's show will be live in the Internet at 7 p.m. on the Web site http://www.talkingwithheroes.com/. He'll be broadcasting from the Community Partnership for Child Development building, 2330 Robinson St., before a studio audience of as many as 300. Calvert's expected guests include Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera and Fort Carson's commander, Maj. Gen. Mark Graham.

Calvert has been broadcasting military stories on the Internet since 2005, including stories he produced on trips to Iraq.

He said tonight's two-hour show, with a long list of guests, will examine military progress overseas and give community leaders a chance to thank soldiers.

"It seems like we're at a whole new level," Calvert said.
