THE GAZETTE

The $20,000 Cash 5 jackpot gets hit about eight times a month.

And that’s with drawings only six days a week.

This weekend, Colorado Lottery’s most winnable game is adding Sunday and going to seven days.

The game started in 1996 has paid out about $20.6 million to more than 1,000 top-prize winners.

The dollar game had record sales of $20.8 million in fiscal year 2009 and raised $7.1 million for state trails, open space, rec centers and wildlife protection.

Director Jack Boehm: “With the addition of a seventh drawing day, we expect those numbers to grow.”

Sales stop at 7:30 p.m. daily. Drawings are held at 7:40 p.m.
