Councilman's views on budget

Colorado Springs City Councilman Darryl Glenn will talk about the city's 2009 budget during town-hall meetings scheduled this month. Glenn represents City Council District 2, which includes an area northeast of Academy Boulevard and North Carefree Circle. The meeting schedule:
· Noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Firestation 19, 2490 Research Blvd.

· Noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Firestation 20, 6755 Rangewood Drive.

Earnings report
Both candidates in the 5th Congressional District reported personal finances as required in May.
Rep. Doug Lamborn, the Republican incumbent, reported he made no money from a law practice. His investments include a growth fund valued at from $1,001 to $15,000, which paid up to $1,000 in capital gains in the previous year. He also reported a loan to his campaign as an asset valued at from $15,001 to $50,000.
Democrat Hal Bidlack reported he was paid $18,772 by the Air Force Academy from January to May and $26,410 the previous year for working as a political science instructor.
His investments include an IRA valued at $15,001 to $50,000 and a credit union account work less than $1,000.
Bidlack also reported having a mortgage on which he owes between $100,000 and $250,000.

Ted Haggard is starting new church at his Colorado Springs home.
What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
Haggard should stay out of the ministry. He has too much baggage to lead a church.
I don't care what Haggard does, and I'm sick of hearing about him in the news.
Haggard and anyone crazy enough to attend his church deserve each other.
Haggard has a lot to offer as a pastor. Let's give him a chance.
