ON THE STUMP: Candidate Bidlack opening headquarters on Cascade
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Retired Lt. Col. Hal Bidlack, a Democrat running for the 5th Congressional District seat, will hold an open house of his new headquarters at noon Thursday.
Bidlack for Congress is located at 724 W. Cascade Ave.
Bidlack served in the Air Force for 25 years and said he's running to bring a sense of what's right and wrong to government.
"I'm running because it's time someone used that common sense approach in Washington," he said.

CAMPAIGN KICKS IN
Michelle Maksimowicz, a Democratic candidate for House District 15, will hold a kickoff Saturday.
Maksimowicz is unopposed in the Aug. 12 primary election for her party's nomination. Frances Dejarnette, who had registered to oppose Maksimowicz, has dropped out. Maksimowicz will face the winner in the Republican contest between Douglas Bruce, who now holds the seat, and challenger Mark Waller, in the Nov. 4 general election.
Her event is set for noon at the Cimarron Hills Fire Protection District administration building, 1835 Tuskegee Place. District 15 includes northeast Colorado Springs and points east to Falcon.
BIZ LIKES CRANK
Jeff Crank, seeking the Republican nomination in the 5th Congressional District, has released a list of business leaders who endorse him.
"Business is the backbone of our American economy," said Crank, a former Chamber of Commerce official and business consultant.
Backing Crank are Pete Coors of Coors Brewing Company, Ed Haselden with Haselden Construction, Bill Hybl with The Broadmoor and the El Pomar Foundation, Gary Loo with High Valley Group, Charlie Monfort, chief executive of the Colorado Rockies, and Steve Schuck of The Schuck Corporation.
