THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

DENVER — A bank robber dubbed "The Shaggy Bandit" for his resemblance to a character in the "Scooby-Doo" cartoon is a suspect in at least 14 robberies in Colorado and Arizona since June 24.

FBI officials in Denver say the latest holdup was Monday in the Denver suburb of Arvada. The Colorado robberies have been in the metro area, including Boulder and Longmont.

Authorities believe the Shaggy Bandit also robbed a bank in Flagstaff, Ariz., July 8.

The FBI says the bandit has struck banks inside grocery stores and stand-alone banks.

Authorities believe there might be a person waiting for him in a getaway vehicle. They assume he's armed, although no witness has seen a gun or other weapon. See his photo here.
