MOVIES

"Parker Lewis Can't Lose: Season 1 Series" - Lewis. Lewis. Not Bueller, Bueller. But basically a knockoff in the wake of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

Corin Nemec's slick, scheming teen gets support from big boy Abe Benrubi (pre-"ER"), principal Melanie Chartoff (post-"Fridays") and wacky parent Timothy Stack ("Son of the Beach"). Also seen: Ozzy Osbourne, Donny Osmond, Beaver and June Cleaver. Plus, lots of big hair!

Extras: Half-hour featurette packed with great new interviews, seven audio commentaries (showrunner Clyde Phillips is now doing "Dexter"), episode trivia booklet.

"Eastbound and Down" - A baseball boor ends up teaching gym in HBO's crass-com, with featurette, commentaries, more; six episodes on two discs.

"The Hunger" - Stars of 1998 Showtime horror anthology from Tony and Ridley Scott include Daniel Craig, Lena Headey, Colin Ferguson, Balthazar Getty, Esai Morales, Giancarlo Esposito; 22 episodes on four discs.

MUSIC

"THE ECSTATIC" Mos Def

MC-cum-actor Mos Def's fourth solo album mostly lives up to its giddy name with Bollywood-style samples and off-kilter production from Stones Throw stars Madlib and his brother Oh No, and the late J Dilla.

It also showcases Mos Def's most engaged lyrical flow in years - positive in spirit and some of it looking back, as he does on "History."

At its start, "The Ecstatic" is aggressive and a little spooky. The atmospheric "Auditorium" is built from a track off of Madlib's "Beat Konducta in India" series and features a captivating guest appearance from Slick Rick.

"LOVE TRAVELS" Angel Taylor

Taylor's debut album is a lush and lilting treatment on pop. It's a sugarcoated production to be sure, but honest enough to keep things from becoming too sappy.

Of course it's all about love and dating and the occasional heartache. What pop song isn't, really? What Taylor brings to the table that sets her apart is a voice with enough quirks to make her stand out in a crowded genre of wannabe Lisa Loebs.

Take "Like You Do," a light track about love affirmed. Taylor employs a gorgeous husky whisper at times, and pours on the vocal energy as the pace quickens.

"Spinning Wheels" is one of the top tracks on the album, with its winning hook. "I'll keep you locked up so tight in my pocket/until you decide to slow down I'll keep spinning wheels," Taylor sings.

Ron Harris, The Associated Press

What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
Haggard should stay out of the ministry. He has too much baggage to lead a church.
I don't care what Haggard does, and I'm sick of hearing about him in the news.
Haggard and anyone crazy enough to attend his church deserve each other.
