Motorists driving Highway 24 near Falcon can expect short delays Thursday as the highway is repaved.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will pave about a half-mile of U.S. 24 between Falcon Highway and Meridian Road.
Flaggers will alternate traffic on eastbound and westbound lanes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Five-minute to 10-minute delays can be expected.
• Motorists driving northbound Powers Boulevard today can expect various lane closures between Palmer Park Boulevard and Constitution Avenue. The closures will be between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and the speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph. Some slowing should be anticipated through the area.
• The Colorado Department of Transportation is scheduled to chip-seal two segments of State Highway 67 between Divide and Cripple Creek next week.
On Tuesday, beginning at 8 a.m., the highway will be closed between mile 55 (five miles north of Cripple Creek) and mile 64. The detour route will be County Road 61. The highway is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 p.m.
Three more miles of Highway 67 will be chip sealed June 17 between mile markers 64 through 67. A pilot car will alternate traffic one way from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Delays of 10 to 15 minutes are possible.
Chip-sealing often leaves rocks on the surface of the road for days after the work, so motorists are encouraged to maintain a safe distance.
