Social Security offices paring public hours

Starting Aug. 15, the Social Security field office at 1049 N. Academy Blvd. will join others nationwide in curtailing public hours by 30 minutes a day because of budget cuts.

Public hours at the Colorado Springs office will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. However, employees will continue to work their regular hours.

Social Security officials note that many of its services are available online at www.socialsecurity.gov or by calling 1-800-772-1213.
