2 cited for I-25 crashes near Cimarron
Two separate crashes on Interstate 25 near Cimarron Street slowed traffic on the interstate for about an hour Thursday morning.
According to police, a white Chevrolet sedan driven by a man named Tony Sanchez was heading south on the interstate and had a tire blow out, just north of the Cimarron exit about 10 a.m. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and blocked two lanes of traffic. Sanchez was not injured. That crash slowed traffic in the area and, when a grey Chevrolet SUV stopped, it was rear-ended by a blue Chevrolet Coup, driven by Tiffany Jameson. Police say Jameson did not see the vehicle slow down in front of her.
Jameson and Sanchez will both be cited for the crashes, which caused lane closures for about an hour.
