Two people were seriously injured, including one person that was airlifted to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, after a 16-car pileup on Interstate 25 Saturday near Larkspur, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Several other people were taken to local hospitals with lesser injuries, said Trooper Ryan Sullivan.
The accident occurred at 9:40 a.m. Saturday and closed the northbound lanes of the interstate until nearly noon. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, Sullivan said, but the road was icy and slushy in spots.
