THE GAZETTE

That's all bridge players need to do for the Pikes Peak Gold Rush tournament featuring lots of games, celebrity speakers and bridge stuff.

The Unit 360 and District 17 regional tournament begins at 7 p.m. Monday and continues daily through Oct. 12 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, 2886 South Circle Dr.

The seven-day event for all levels is held every three years, said spokeswoman Bonnie Bagley.

Newer players are encouraged to attend, she said. There will be some trophies, but the main reward is for players to win master points. Players can come alone and get fixed up with a partner at the partnership table. No registration is needed. Entry fees vary.

For information: Call Bagley at 593-0205 or go to www.coloradospringsbridge.com.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
