THE GAZETTE

A Pueblo man was arrested and northbound Interstate 25 closed for two hours early Monday morning as police investigated a possible terrorist threat.

The incident started at 3 a.m. when Fountain Police received a call from the Colorado State Patrol to watch for an old, red Chevrolet Geo headed north out of Pueblo.

State police said the driver had called the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office claiming to have information on a terrorist attack planned against the U.S.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Fountain Police pulled over the car and its driver, 30-year-old Justin Daniel Quinn of Pueblo.

Explosive experts were called after a police dog "alerted" on Quinn's car for possible explosives.

The Colorado Springs Metro Explosives Unit swept the car for explosives, but none were found. Authorities said they did find drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The interstate was reopened to traffic at 6:15 a.m.

In a news release, Fountain Police said Quinn's alleged threat "may have been a result of his being under the influence of drugs or alcohol."

Quinn was cited in a summons with driving under the influence, no proof of insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Quinn was released to the custody of his father, police said.

What's your view?
Good for him. If God has called Haggard to return to ministry, he should obey.
Haggard should stay out of the ministry. He has too much baggage to lead a church.
I don't care what Haggard does, and I'm sick of hearing about him in the news.
Haggard and anyone crazy enough to attend his church deserve each other.
Haggard has a lot to offer as a pastor. Let's give him a chance.
