THE GAZETTE

Police say that a stabbing victim Tuesday night lied to officers about receiving his wounds.

According to police, Bryan Love called police about 11:16 p.m. and told officers that he had been stabbed because of a road rage incident. Soon after, however, a man and woman living at the Garden Apartments, 3310 Verde Dr. called police to report that two people had broken into their apartment and they had stabbed one of them to protect themselves. The man who lived at the apartment said he had stabbed Love on his left side while he was being choked.

Police linked the two calls and took Love to the hospital. When released, he will be arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary. Also arrested was Otis Love, who police say was with Bryan Love in the apartment.

Harrison school district closer to pay for performance for teachers
Should teacher pay be based on performance?
Yes. Teachers should be rewarded for good work, and poor performers should be weeded out.
No. Pay for performance is just a back-door way of blaming teachers for other problems in the education system.
It depends on what "performance" means. It's good if there's a fair measurement of performance.
Undecided.
