Defense contractor entering Springs mayoral race

The Gazette

Gregory “Buddy” Gilmore, 56, CEO and part owner of Shape Technologies LLC, a Colorado Springs defense contractor, filed papers Thursday to run for mayor in the April 2011 election.

Gilmore joins commercial real estate broker Tim Leigh, who announced his candidacy earlier this month.

Gilmore, who has never run for public office, serves as vice chair of the Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Board.
