Enjoy warm weather - snow may be next
Enjoy the higher than normal temperatures and warm winds today, as the National Weather Service is predicting snow for the Pikes Peak region Sunday.
Forecasters expect today to be mostly sunny, with high temperatures near 67. Expect the winds to kick up as high as 35 mph.
A "red flag" warning has been issued for El Paso County today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., which means the windy conditions combined with low humidity and higher temperatures could create "erratic fire behavior if a fire starts Saturday afternoon," according to the NWS.
Temperatures are expected to dip to freezing tonight and the flurries could fly as soon as 11 a.m. Sunday, according to NWS forecasters. About 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible Sunday with high temperatures reaching only 35 degrees and gusts as high as 45 mph.
