OPINION: Tea party song

In celebration of the tea parties planned throughout the United States, American singer, songwriter and self-proclaimed "proud black American conservative" Lloyd Marcus has written and performed "American Tea Party." Some readers might remember Marcus from the 2008 presidential campaign, when he showed up on "The Stop Obama Tour" bus and performed in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

Here's a sampling of the lyrics from his new song: "Mr. President, your stimulus is sure to bust; it's just a socialistic scheme; the only thing it will do is kill the American dream; you want to take from achievers, somehow you think that's fair, and redistribute to those folks who won't get out of their easy chairs; we're having a tea party across this land..."
