Sky Sox end skid, pick up win against River Cats
The Sky Sox were able to hold on off a furious eighth inning rally by the River Cats to end their four-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over Sacramento.
Colorado Springs had seven hits, scored five runs, and was able to take advantage of a missed catch error by Sacramento’s shortstop Steven Tolle in the fifth.
Eric Young Jr., who was recently sent down to the Springs from the Rockies, was a spark plug for the Sky Sox on offense. The second baseman stole second and third base in top of the eighth inning and scored once in the victory.
Young, Matt Miller and Kazuo Matsui all had RBIs on the night for Colorado Springs.
