Men's basketball: Air Force at Boise State preview
Air Force at Boise State
Saturday, 4 p.m., Taco Bell Arena
Air Force (10-4), last game: 67-40 win vs. Texas-Pan American
About the Falcons: Air Force doesn’t seem quite settled on whether it will be a zone defensive team this season, or a squad that plays mostly man-to-man. The Falcons used a lot of man defense early in the nonconference season, but started shifting back to its familiar matchup zone the past few games. It will be interesting which tactic the Falcons use against Boise State, which is second in the Mountain West in 3-point shooting.
Boise State (10-5), last game: 72-59 loss at Fresno State:
About the Broncos: The Falcons need to beware of Anthony Drmic, the only freshman among the top 20 scorers in the Mountain West this season. Drmic, who averages 14.4 points, is sixth in the league in 3-point percentage. Air Force also needs to keep an eye on Drew Wiley, who has hit 49.2 percent of his 3s, which is second best in the league.
