Broncos at Bengals: 3 things to watch

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE GAZETTE

1. Wins usually sway the jury of public appeal

After today, at least Josh McDaniels can be judged on wins and losses. The Broncos coach makes his debut today after a trying offseason. He finally gets a chance to show if all those controversial moves were worthwhile.

2. Elvis could have Bengals all shook up

The player to watch for the Broncos today might be right outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil. He’ll be against huge, but not particularly quick, left tackle Andrew Whitworth. Whitworth is a natural guard pressed into duty at tackle.

3. Passing could be fancy

Both teams could air it out. The Bengals’ strength is quarterback Carson Palmer and three talented receivers. Denver’s best way to attack Cincinnati’s defense might be to spread the field and test the Bengals’ inexperienced reserve cornerbacks.
