Broncos RB Buckhalter returns to practice
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ENGLEWOOD – Running back Correll Buckhalter took a step toward returning for a huge AFC West showdown against San Diego on Monday.
Buckhalter, who missed Sunday’s game against New England with an ankle injury, practiced with the team Wednesday. He was taking normal repetitions during the period of practice that is open to the media. Buckhalter started Denver’s first four games at tailback and had 267 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per carry.
Buckhalter isn’t guaranteed to get his starting spot back. Rookie Knowshon Moreno started last week against the Patriots. He leads the Broncos with 337 rushing yards. Even if Buckhalter doesn’t start next Monday at San Diego, he should have a significant role if he is healthy enough to play.
