Air Force vs. BYU preview
BYU at Air Force
Wednesday night, 8 p.m., Clune Arena
BYU (22-2, 8-1 MWC), last game: 78-64 win vs. UNLV
About the Cougars: While Jimmer Fredette gets the attention, the rest of the BYU roster is solid. In the first meeting, Fredette was just 6-of-14 shooting, but when Air Force started to make a run someone else would hit a big shot. Brandon Davies is a talented post player, and Jackson Emery is a fantastic outside shooter. The Falcons can’t focus too much on taking Fredette out of the game.
Air Force (13-9, 4-5 MWC), last game: 54-49 win at Utah
About the Falcons: Now that Air Force has won a couple of road conference games, it needs to show maturity by handling that success. After the Falcons snapped a 20-game road conference losing streak at TCU, they came out flat and were blown out by New Mexico. Coming off a win at Utah, they need a better effort Wednesday night. There is a sellout crowd, which could help the Falcons’ energy level.
