Qualifying, practice have begun for Pikes Peak Hill Climb on Sunday

Qualifying for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was held Wednesday for motorcycles, quads and sidecars on a six-mile course from the start line to Glen Cove.

Top finishers were Mickey Alzola in vintage, Gary Trachy in supermoto, Mark Miller in 250 cc, Joe Prussiano in 450 cc, Mickey Dymond in 750 cc, Greg Tracy in 1200 cc, Steven Tutt in quad 450, John Stallworth in quad 500 and Bruno Marlin and Sylvie Jeandemange in sidecar.

The 86th running of the Hill Climb, a 12.42-mile race featuring cars, trucks, motorcycles, quads and sidecars, is 9 a.m. Sunday. Race officials are offering a $25,000 prize to the driver with the fastest time under 10 minutes, likely Japanese sensation Nobuhiro Tajima or Basalt's Paul Dallenbach.
