Tulowitzki will start for Rockies tonight

SAN DIEGO — Troy Tulowitzki sat on the home bench at Petco Park, ready to hit. And not just in batting practice. As expected, the shortstop has returned to the lineup after a three-game absence because of a back injury.

Ian Stewart, also dealing with a back injury, is improving, but is not in the lineup. He will take BP and go through fielding drills. Also, Jose Contreras (right quad) traveled with the team, a sign that his injury isn’t that serious.
